Course Objectives This course aims to teach the classification of living things, the structure of the cell, organelles and the relationship between cells, energy metabolism, genetic control mechanisms, types and properties of human inheritance models and the importance of genetics in nutritional disorders.
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Distinguish the classification of living things
  • Explain the biological molecules of the cell
  • Explain the organelles of the cell and their properties
  • Explain energy metabolism in the cell
  • Describe chromosome structure, protein synthesis and mutation types
  • Explain nutrigenetics and nutrigenomics
Course Description This course covers the structure of the cell, organelles and their interactions with each other, structural features of genetic material and replication mechanism, genetic code and genetic control mechanisms, types and properties of human inheritance models and the importance of genetics in nutritional disorders.
